When uploading, keep the paint layers white with the exception of adding dark spots for shading (optionally you can use a non_paintlayer for shading). The goal is to let users choose exactly the colors to be as creative as possible. Examples below.
The outfits are the same but the one on the right has darker paint layers, that's why it looks less detailed.
Users should add their own graphics and text to their outfit designs. Do not include any specific text on your designs.
When uploading make sure that the paint layer and the albedo file are cropped accordingly to the roblox template. Do not include the template layers.
Make sure that you don't include the Template layer when exporting.
Tiny errors within the template are a common mistake for some designers! Watch out for these issues on your paint layers!
Make sure that you don't export the templates with gaps in between them.
These are the frequent mistakes caused by gaps in the template. To avoid these errors, refer to the template guide.
Watch out for misaligned pixels
The empty areas like the arms should be transparent and should not include an extra paint layer.
Customuse works similarly to how you would upload pants onto the Roblox platform. If the pants that you created extend to the torso part of the outfit, you must include the upper section of the pants directly on the pants template.
We don't want to overwhelm our users with too many options. Preferably don't create more than 5 paint layers for the top and bottom parts of the outfit.
Notice: you can do a maximum of 5 paint layers for each file [Top 5 max paint layers][Bot 5 max paint layers].
Albedo file must match existing paint layers, to be the result of the combination of paint layers, and not differ in any way.
